Day Trip: Komorebi in Astoria Park
Day Trips bring to your inbox a little factoid, a little imagery, maybe a recipe, a little trapdoor for you to slip through in your Monday morning routine.
Komorebi is a Japanese word that describes how sunlight is filtered through leaves. A few weeks ago, lying face up in Astoria Park on a warm Sunday afternoon, I saw the best example of komorebi that I had seen since my trip to the bamboo forests in Japan. It’s nice to think how a moment so close to home connected me to a memory from a land far, far away. This week, I hope you get a moment to notice some komorebi in the leaves around your home, too.
Love this! Thanks for spreading knowledge!
